Product Description
GI strip is the widely used trade abbreviation for galvanized iron strip, a commodity-grade hot-dip galvanized steel coil slit to standard widths for resale and high-volume fabrication. In global steel trade, "GI" denotes galvanized iron, the material grade most commonly bought and sold by the ton. Produced from regular spangle galvanized coil in thicknesses of 0.085-1.2mm and zinc coatings of 20-300g/m², GI strip is stocked in standard widths and supplied in bulk for distributors, traders, and large-scale manufacturers. The uniform zinc layer provides long-lasting corrosion protection, and the slit coil form feeds directly into slitting lines, roll formers, and stamping presses without reprocessing. As a traded commodity, GI strip is ordered by tonnage and container loads, which makes consistent dimensions and coating weight critical for resale margins.
Our monthly capacity of approximately 10,000 tons supports container-load and multi-container GI strip orders on a repeat schedule. We prefer EXW terms to give buyers direct control over freight and documentation, and standard trade orders settle on a 30% deposit with 70% balance, keeping procurement cash-flow predictable for wholesale customers who plan regular restocking.

Applications
Steel Distribution and Wholesale
GI strip in standard widths is bought by traders and distributors who stock and resell to local fabricators; consistent tonnage packing and verifiable coating weight protect resale margins across repeated shipments.
High-Volume Roll Forming
Large manufacturers consume GI strip in continuous coil form for channels and profiles, where bulk supply and EXW terms reduce per-unit material cost on long-running production schedules.
General Metalworking Supply
Fabricators and job shops purchase commodity GI strip for jobs ranging from brackets to enclosures, relying on standard dimensions that fit common tooling without custom slitting.
Customization
Standard widths are available from stock for wholesale. Custom slitting, thickness (0.085-1.2mm), and zinc coating (20-300g/m²) are offered for specific orders. OEM and ODM production based on customer drawings is supported. Mixed-standard containers can be arranged for orders combining several widths.
Packaging & Transportation
Export packaging uses waterproof film wrapping with rubber spacers between coils, secured by steel band strapping. Wooden reinforcement is applied inside containers to prevent movement, and accessories are packed separately. Coils can be loaded onto pallets upon request. A loading video is recorded for every export shipment. EXW is our preferred trade term; both RMB and USD settlement are accepted.
FAQ
Q1: What trade terms do you offer?
A: EXW is our preferred trade term for GI strip orders, allowing buyers to arrange their own freight and customs documentation. We also provide loading photos and videos to support your forwarder.
Q2: Can one container mix several standard widths?
A: Yes. For wholesale orders, we can consolidate multiple standard-width GI strips in one container, with each coil packed and labeled separately. The combination and loading plan are confirmed before shipment.
Q3: What is your monthly production capacity?
A: Our monthly output is approximately 10,000 tons of galvanized strip, enabling repeat container-load schedules for distributors and large fabricators without frequent lead-time extensions.
