GI Sheet

GI Sheet

GI Sheet is the flat-cut form of hot-dip galvanized iron, produced by uncoiling GI coil and cutting it to length on a cut-to-length line. Each sheet carries a regular spangle zinc surface applied through molten zinc immersion, with thickness from 0.085mm to 1.2mm and width from 700mm to 1250mm. Sheet length can be cut to customer specifications, and zinc coating weight is selected from 20g/m² to 300g/m² to match the required service life.

Product Description

GI Sheet is the flat-cut form of hot-dip galvanized iron, produced by uncoiling GI coil and cutting it to length on a cut-to-length line. Each sheet carries a regular spangle zinc surface applied through molten zinc immersion, with thickness from 0.085mm to 1.2mm and width from 700mm to 1250mm. Sheet length can be cut to customer specifications, and zinc coating weight is selected from 20g/m² to 300g/m² to match the required service life. The flat format arrives ready for shearing, punching, bending, and roll forming, eliminating the need for downstream uncoiling at the fabricator's workshop. Identification stamps can be rolled into the sheet surface for lot identification.

For fabricators that need ready-to-process flat stock, in-house cut-to-length conversion removes an extra processing step from the buyer's supply chain. We slit and shear the same coil we galvanize, so sheet width, flatness, and edge condition are controlled under one production flow. Custom sheet lengths and corrugated profiles are confirmed against your drawings before cutting, and the first piece is approved before batch sheeting begins, reducing off-size material that would otherwise be scrapped on the cutting table.

Applications

1. Electrical Enclosure and Panel Fabrication - GI sheets are sheared, punched, and bent into switchgear enclosures and control cabinets, where the pre-galvanized surface avoids separate post-painting and maintains corrosion resistance at cut edges over time.

2. Ductwork and HVAC Manufacturing - Flat GI sheet is the standard base for spiral and rectangular duct, because its uniform gauge and zinc coating handle indoor atmospheric moisture without additional surface treatment.

3. Furniture and Shelving Components ‗ Thinner-gauge GI sheet is stamped into shelf brackets, cabinet backs, and appliance panels, where the visible regular spangle finish reduces cosmetic surface defects during forming.

Customization

GI sheets can be cut to customer-specified length, with width within 700–1250mm and thickness 0.085–1.2mm. Zinc coating weight is selectable from 20–300g/m², and corrugated profiles can be roll-formed from the same stock. OEM and ODM production is accepted against customer drawings or samples, with first-piece confirmation before batch output.

Packaging & Transportation

Sheets are bundled with waterproof film, rubber spacers between layers, and steel band strapping, with wooden reinforcement inside containers to prevent edge damage. Accessories and small parts are packed separately. Pallet loading is available, and a loading video is recorded for every export shipment. EXW is our preferred trade term.

FAQ

Q: Can you cut GI sheets to our exact required length?

A: Yes. We operate cut-to-length and slitting lines in-house, so sheet length, width, and thickness are set to your drawing. The first sheet is confirmed with you before the rest of the batch is cut.

Q: What is the lead time for custom GI sheet orders?

A: Standard sheets ship within 3–5 days. Custom dimensions or coating specifications take 10–15 days after drawing confirmation, because the coil must be galvanized to the agreed coating weight before shearing.

Q: How are finished sheets packed to avoid edge damage?

A: Sheets are wrapped in waterproof film, interleaved with rubber spacers, and strapped with steel banding. Wooden bracing inside containers stops bundle movement, and we pack any accessories separately. A loading video is provided for each shipment.
