Galvanized Highway Guardrail

The galvanized highway guardrail is a steel roadside protection system with a zinc coating applied to the guardrail beams, posts, spacer blocks, brackets, connectors, and terminal parts. The main beam can use a two-wave W-beam or a three-wave profile. These components are connected continuously to form a complete roadside barrier.

Description

Zinc-Protected Roadside Safety System

The galvanized highway guardrail is a steel roadside protection system with a zinc coating applied to the guardrail beams, posts, spacer blocks, brackets, connectors, and terminal parts. The main beam can use a two-wave W-beam or a three-wave profile. These components are connected continuously to form a complete roadside barrier.

When a vehicle leaves the normal driving area, the steel beams, posts, and connecting parts work together through load transfer and controlled deformation. This helps absorb part of the impact energy and guide the vehicle along the guardrail direction.

The zinc layer separates the steel surface from rain, moisture, and atmospheric pollutants. It can also provide a degree of electrochemical protection when minor scratches appear on the coating. This makes the product suitable for long-term outdoor installation and road projects that need to control future maintenance frequency.

Thickness, Galvanizing, and System Components

The common base steel thickness ranges from 2.5 mm to 4.0 mm. Buyers can select two-wave or three-wave panels according to the project design. Matching posts can include round posts, C-channel posts, or H-section steel posts.

The system can also include spacer blocks, brackets, post caps, M16 or M20 connectors, bolts, and terminal ends. The galvanizing process may use hot-dip galvanizing after forming. A project-specified pre-galvanizing process can also be used when required by the technical documents.

Zinc coating requirements can be controlled in micrometres or grams per square metre. For projects requiring heavier corrosion protection, a common zinc coating range is approximately 70–85 μm. The final requirement should be confirmed according to the environment, steel thickness, contract, and project inspection rules.

For clearer purchasing and acceptance, buyers should define the average zinc thickness, local minimum value, inspection method, and sampling method instead of using general descriptions such as "heavy galvanized."

Coordinated Production and Inspection

Hongrong Traffic Facilities has stamping, hot-dip galvanizing, cutting, welding, and related processing equipment. The factory can produce guardrail panels, posts, and connection parts as one coordinated system.

For a galvanized highway guardrail order, the team can check the panel type, steel thickness, hole position, post specification, and zinc coating requirement against the purchasing list. This helps reduce mismatched dimensions or hole positions between separate components.

Quality control covers incoming material inspection, production patrol checks, anti-corrosion process control, and final inspection before shipment. Buyers may arrange a factory visit or appoint a third-party inspector to check the steel material, thickness, dimensions, and zinc coating before loading.

Applications, Lead Time, and Export Packing

The product can be used on highways, national roads, provincial roads, rural roads, industrial park roads, mountain roads, and roads in rainy or cold regions. It is also suitable for general outdoor environments with atmospheric corrosion concerns.

Stocked panels and post accessories can support small replacement orders starting from several dozen metres. Standard specifications normally require about 3–5 days for production. Large orders can be delivered in separate batches according to the construction schedule.

For export, panels can be wrapped with waterproof film, separated with rubber pads, and secured with steel straps. Accessories are packed separately. Timber supports can be added inside the container to reduce movement and collision. The loading process can also be recorded. When transport damage is reported, buyers should keep photos, videos, and shipping documents for review.
